Northwest Point, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, BWI
Located over 99 acres along the coast of Northwest Point on Providenciales and protected by the surrounding National Park, Amanyara is a secluded island hideaway and offers the utmost in privacy, design and service.
The resort derives its name from ‘aman’ - the Sanskrit word for peace - and ‘yara’ - the word for place, in the language of the region’s indigenous Arawak Amerindian people. True to its name, Amanyara is a haven of peace and tranquillity where guests enjoy a pristine location far removed from the development centred around the eastern part of the island and uninterrupted by noise or activity from any neighbouring resorts.
Sitting on the edge of over 18,000 acres of unspoilt national park, Amanyara gives the feeling of being on a private island yet lies just 30 minutes drive from an international airport and numerous other resorts, restaurants and attractions. Amanyara is the epitome of laid-back chic, with unparalleled service, design and guest experience. With its secluded sandy beach, unusual ironshore rocky coves and abundant marine life of the surrounding coral reef, Amanyara offers some of the best diving and watersports in the world.
The boutique hotel consists of 40 timber-shingled pavilions, each identical in layout and design, but situated either along the oceanfront or over tranquil ponds. Pond Pavilions feature a timber sundeck extending over the water and Ocean Pavilions are elevated approximately 15-20 feet over the waterline, with pathways leading to the rocky shore and coves below. Gathy’s ingenious design ensures that every guest room has a water view and removes the need for ‘garden rooms’, looking out onto lawn or shrubbery. Instead each guest room has beautiful calming views over the water and natural breezes, which gives to the feeling of being part of a nature reserve.
Guest Pavilions capture a tropical aesthetic by incorporating a simple palette of materials and colours, with sand-coloured polished terrazzo with teak inlays and sisal matting in the bathroom.
Each Pavilion has three outdoor terraces, shaded by its dramatic overhanging roofline and features various outdoor sofas and day beds, as well as a sunken table with cushions and bolsters where guests can enjoy private outdoor dining.
The Pavilions feature dramatic floor to ceiling glass on three of the four sides. Arrival is through sliding glass doors, which open to reveal a spacious and contemporary designed room featuring: a king-size bed on a raised central platform; writing desk; reading chair and footstool; entertainment unit with television, DVD player, ipod unit and surround sound system.
The spacious bathroom area (stocked daily with luxurious Aman amenities) is separated from the room by a chic wooden screen and features: an elegant free-standing bathtub with an adjacent ottoman; twin vanities on either side of the bathroom; separate shower and toilet rooms; and a roomy dressing area with plenty of storage and hanging space.
Pavilion rates start from GB£740 per night. All rates include airport transfers, non-motorised sports, use of tennis courts and equipment, high-speed broadband and wireless internet access, laundry, private bar (excluding wine and spirits) and (unique to Amanyara) all international telephone calls.
Villas
In addition to the hotel, Amanyara offers 33 private villas available to buy or rent. Similar in design to the hotel and also located along the oceanfront or tranquil lakes, buyers can choose from three, four or five bedroom villas.
Sophisticated and well-travelled families have learnt that the ownership of a holiday home can often be more of a burden than a benefit and that they can never recreate the total peace of mind that Aman provides. From the planning, design, construction and subsequent management of your villa, everything is handled by Amanresorts. Every villa has a team of at least two personal staff and the service owners and their guests experience in their private villa is equivalent to the industry setting standards of Amanresorts.
Each villa features a 1,200 square foot swimming pool in the same black volcanic rock as the hotel. The bedroom pavilions are centred by the swimming pool and adjacent are two pavilions dedicated for lounging and dining. Each bedroom pavilion is identical to the pavilions in the resort. A poolside dining sala, with a shaded sunken table seating eight people, provides an excellent venue for outdoor dining and relaxing.
Additional components that buyers have the option of are: a separate office pavilion; internal lake; outdoor bathrooms; extended landscaping with additional trees or walled garden; larger pool of 1,400 square feet and an extended social pavilion including larger desk space and canopy around the living and dining rooms to enhance outdoor living of the villa.
Amanresorts fully manages the villas by way of general maintenance, security, housekeeping and gardening and provide all guest amenities, such as towels and toiletries. Amanresorts pays all club dues, utility bills and other owner related expenses and keep accurate accounting records of all transactions, revenues and expenses on behalf of the villa owner. Villa owners have the option of entering into the Aman rental programme. Amanresorts determines the rates each year but rates currently start from GB £3,000 per night. Owners can use their villa at any time of the year – unless pre-reserved – for any guaranteed use.
