Nominees for PGA Tour Player of the Year
Double major winner Padraig Harrington and Tiger Woods are among the five golfers nominated for the 2008 PGA Tour Player of the Year award.
World number one Woods had his campaign curtailed in June for major knee surgery after winning the US Open in a dramatic play-off.
Woods triumphed four times in just six starts on the 2008 PGA Tour and Harrington won both the British Open and PGA Championship this season.
The other players nominated for the Jack Nicklaus Trophy are American Kenny Perry, Fijian Vijay Singh and Camilo Villegas of Colombia.
Perry won three PGA Tour Titles and played an important role in America’s triumphant Ryder Cup Team.
Singh also claimed three Tour Titles and won the FedExCup while Villega was victorius in the last two FedEx Cup playoff events.
If Woods wins the award – decided by PGA tour professionals - it will be for the fourth year in succession and will bring his tally to ten – meaining he will have won it more times than anyone else in history.
The winner will be announced in mid-December.
