Bressel Lady
Jeanrichard sends a fresh wind blowing through watchmaking classics by creating an extremely feminine watch offering an original take on traditional displays: the Bressel Lady indicates the hours, minutes, seconds, date and power reserve in an original and pared-down composition reinterpreting the theme of curves.
Adopting an unusual geometrical approach, the various functions are arranged around a central diamond: the hours and minutes pass by on an off-centred axis, while the date appears at 3 o’clock. A curve marks the contours of the small seconds at 7 o’clock and extends its undulations up to the power-reserve display between 4 and 5 o’clock, thereby underscoring the running time remaining before the next winding is required.
The beating heart of this creation ably serves this sophisticated display. Developed and produced by the Manufacture Jeanrichard, the mechanical self-winding JR1000 movement can be enriched with all kinds of modular constructions, this being one of the most recent demonstrations. The sapphire case-back enables one to admire the beauty and complexity of the decorated mechanism.
The elegance of this model is accentuated by the sunburst motif on the satin-brushed dial: this decorative work magnifies the watch by adorning it with lines vividly evoking the rays of the sun. Jeanrichard thereby creates a timepiece that succeeds in renewing the codes of watchmaking displays without resorting to excessive artifice. This daring approach focuses on essentials, while taking account of the smallest details. By way of example, in creating the case fitted with a convex sapphire crystal measuring 38 mm in diameter, Jeanrichard has successfully displayed the gentle curves of this watch to even the daintiest wrists. The steel bezel set with 58 diamonds (totalling approximately 1.16 carats), the sapphire cabochon adorning the crown and the python strap with folding buckle, together set the finishing touch to the new Bressel Lady, which comes in black or silver-coloured versions.
